Heyyyyyylo! :D I am super excited to do this post today mainly because of the fact that I have stumbled across YET another way to save your money ;) No, I have not changed my blog topics to investment schemes. Fear not! B-) I am just sharing a recipe of a totally awesome homemade toner which is the result of a successful experiment.
I have always loved homemade skincare solutions for my skin. I am in my mid-twenties now and CTM (Cleansing-Toning-Moisturizing) routine is absolutely essential in order to maintain good skin health. Although I have never skipped cleansing and moisturizing, I have never really bothered about toning. Till date, I have used maybe one or two toners available commercially. When I finished up the bottles, I didn't bother to go get another one. I know that rose water is the best toner around but somehow I am never content with rosewater only. The other day I was browsing through the benefits one could get on application of green tea on facial skin. I also have an aloe-vera plant at home which finds its way in my ubtan bowl daily. So finally I decided to incorporate these two and make a totally herbal, chemical-free toner for myself and maa. The ingredients are listed below:

1. Rosewater (I have used Dabur Gulabari 30 ml bottle which cost me Rs.15)
2. Glycerine (My bottle costs Rs.23.50. But you would need only a teaspoon of it)
3. A 2 inch piece of fresh aloe vera leaf
4. Two teaspoons of green tea
5. A clean empty bottle for storing the toner (I have used an old Fab India toner bottle)
6. Grater for juicing the aloe vera, a saucepan for brewing green tea and a sieve for straining it
The Steps are explained in the pictures below. If you need further clarification on any point, I would love to hear from you in the comments.

After all the steps are done, you can add your own sweet label on the bottle :) And don’t forget to shake the bottle every time before you use it. Store in fridge and use within a week (You want a fresh product every week, don’t you?)
Now let us see what nutrition punch this toner has for you! :D
Green Tea: A great anti-oxidant and unclogs pores too
Aloe-vera: Moisturizes, heals irritated skin, treats acne, heals sunburns and reduces inflammation. It is known as the “wonder plant”.
Rose Water: Freshens the skin, maintains pH-balance, and helps fight acne, dermatitis and eczema. It smoothens out skin too.
Glycerin: Restores and maintains suppleness of skin.
Oily skinned beauties may skip glycerin and add a pinch of camphor to the solution.
Ta-Daaaa!! Your very own toner without spending a bomb ;) You can do the calculation yourself and see how much it took ;)
Disclaimer: Please do not use this toner if you are allergic to any of the ingredients mentioned above. And please remember that unclean bottle, improper handling and storage may lead to spoilage which will make the product unfit for use.
Do give this a try and let me know if this works for you! <3
With love!

Plum Angel Eyes Kajal #True Black and a comparison with other kajals
Plum Angel Eyes Kajal #True Black and a comparison with other kajals
Hey beauties! I am very excited to do this post mainly because amidst all other makeup products lying in my vanity, I reach out for kajal the most. For any regular day, it is only a moisturizer, sunscreen, kajal and lipgloss for me (Sounds familiar, eh?) So, just like buying daal-chawal every month, I need to keep restocking kajal. Hehehe ;)
I have always been a fan of smudge-proof kajal and Maybelline Colossal has been my favorite always. But recently, with the onset of winters, I find it bit drying and not as smooth as it is in summers. Also, I had been wishing for a “Blend-able” kajal for the soft smudged look, both on lower lids as well as upper lids and which should not be too oily-glossy kind. I got my perfect product in Plum’s Angel Eyes kajal. Plum is a new brand on the block and they produce completely natural products free from harmful chemicals. You can check their Facebook page Here. So, when I received their Kajal, I was naturally very thrilled. Read on to see how it fared-

Rimmel London Vinyl Lip-gloss # Snog
Rimmel London Vinyl Lip-gloss # Snog

Hi everyone!!! By now, you all must have understood my affinity towards products which are reasonably priced. Here is another such for which you do not need to spend more than 500 bucks like most other good quality lip glosses. Its Rimmel London’s Vinyl Lipgloss range’s Snog. Ever since I bought it, I have been wearing it almost EVERYDAY and I shall be in soup if they discontinue it. You know that feeling when they discontinue manufacturing the product which you love to the core, don’t you? Yes, horrid! Anyway, cutting short the banter, here is the review ;)

MUA Lash Boom Mascara #Ultra Black
MUA Lash Boom Mascara #Ultra Black

Hey all! Any eye makeup is incomplete without the final touch of mascara. It gives that instant “complete” look to the eye, doesn't it? I know a lot of women who like keeping stock of at least two or three kinds of mascara meant for giving different effects- from adding drama to the lashes to just lifting the eyes up for a naturally fresh look every day. As much as I dislike hoarding, I cannot deny that it is rational to keep at least two varieties of mascara in one’s vanity- one for parties (which gives luxuriant volume and length) and another for daily use (which separates lashes, adds some intensity to the lashes and lifts the eyes). But somehow, I have always had just one mascara in my kitty :-/ No, I don’t know why. I generally buy a new one only when the former one is over or dried up! So, when my favorite daily wear mascara (Maybelline Hypercurl) got over, I decided to get something new. I scourged Jabong and finally decided on MUA Lash Boom mascara in Ultra Black shade. Read on to see how it fared.

Gia Bath & Body Works Cashmere Crème Cupcake soap
Gia Bath & Body Works Cashmere Crème Cupcake soap

Hello everyone,
Today I’m going to write my first review ever. Basically I am a “no make-up” girl.  I just do the basics. It is the same as the protagonist had told in the movie “The Princess Diaries" -“My expectation in life is to be invisible and I’m good at it”. I find it similar when it comes to make-up. But I do like taking good care of my skin and prefer using homemade products. I had come to know about the Gia Bath and Body Works from my ex-roomie Aparajita and I loved the look of the products. And on my last birthday, Aparajita gifted me one of those beauuuuutiful homemade soaps and I LOVED that like anything. So my first review on Elegant Eves starts with “Cashmere Crème”…… Enjoy reading! ;)

Hey beauties...
After a lot of make up product reviews, today we are back to skincare. Before I start this review, I would like to bring your attention to the name of this product: Biotique Coco Body "Balm". Notice that it is differently named from all the body butters we know about. As claimed by the company, this is not a cosmetic product, but a balm with therapeutic qualities. So ladies, if you are expecting something buttery or souffle like thing with a heavenly fragrance, you will be disappointed ;) Others like me who are on a lookout for a body balm which attends to certain skin issues like stretch marks, pigmentation and other marks, please read on :)

Hey everyone! Today’s review will be on a much raved about product in the beauty blogosphere. But there will be a little twist to this review on the product which is claimed as a “must-have”. I know I will be breaking all norms and might be put on fashion “guillotine” after this ;) You shall know why!
