After a lot of make up product reviews, today we are back to skincare. Before I start this review, I would like to bring your attention to the name of this product: Biotique Coco Body "Balm". Notice that it is differently named from all the body butters we know about. As claimed by the company, this is not a cosmetic product, but a balm with therapeutic qualities. So ladies, if you are expecting something buttery or souffle like thing with a heavenly fragrance, you will be disappointed ;) Others like me who are on a lookout for a body balm which attends to certain skin issues like stretch marks, pigmentation and other marks, please read on :)

Packaging: It comes in the regular Biotique green plastic tub packaging  with a screw lid. It also has a white plastic lid inside which fell from my hands EVERY time I tried to open the tub! I seriously do not know why is it given. The tub packaging repels many because of hygiene issue. But I find it not a huge issue because I have used it every time after a shower and squeaky clean hands. But I WOULD have had a problem if anyone shared that tub ;)

My take: I started using this product when I started having a sudden bout pf pigmentation spots and marks all over of my legs and hands. The ones on my legs were itchy and the ones on my hands, though not itchy, looked like huge birthmarks. I was aghast because I always had problem-free skin. It was then I thought of giving "no chemical" products a chance.

The first thing I noticed about this product was its smell. It did not smell like any body lotions or body butters I have used so far. Though not strong, it actually smelled like medicinal ointment! :( It was a huge turn-off. Next was the texture. It smelled like ointment, it had the texture of an ointment! Forget buttery smooth and soft cream, this needs some efforts in blending. I find it easier to blend it in just after a shower when the body is slightly wet.But after blending, it does not leave any greasy residue behind. the skin soaks it in totally.

But now comes the best part: It reduced the itchiness on the legs with the first use and the marks and pigmentation reduced in a WEEK!!! Yes!!! That made me fall in love with this body balm. It works true to its claims. I cannot comment on the stretch mark thing as I do not have any, but on marks it definitely works!! I waited till I completed the entire tub before I wrote this review. So you can understand how much I really love this body balm :) It lasts for a really long time too so its easy on pocket. I would definitely recommend this balm to everyone.
