Banarasi Kimkhwab Saree
Banarasi Kimkhwab Saree

Hello beauties! What comes to your mind when you hear “Banarasi Saree”? For a Bengali, Banarasi saree (Or as we call it Benaroshi Sharee) has been THE choice for brides since time immemorial. The vibrant silks majorly in colours of red, blue and pinks with intricate golden zari weave has been the ultimate choice of Bengali brides. Even I had chosen two such sarees for my wedding and reception (Read HERE and HERE). But for a handloom saree lover like myself, just owning one or two such royal sarees from Banaras was not enough. I needed to know more about such deep-rooted beautiful handwoven magic attire. So I have been reading quite a lot about Banarasi sarees since the last few months and found out about the various kinds of Banarasi sarees available since the glorious past. One such type of Banarasi saree weave is the “Kimkhwab” (Kimkhaab) weave.

Hey everyone! Many of you who are there on my friends list on Facebook know that I have recently shifted to Mumbai with my husband and am going crazy with do-it-yourself home decor which are no pressure on pocket and can be made with stuff available easily in your home. Almost all of you have been asking me to share tutorials of the same, and so after much postponing, I am starting today with a cheerful yellow flower showpiece that I made for filling up a corner of our bookshelf till more books come in! Let’s get started!

Maybelline Fashion Brow Cream Pencil Brown review
Maybelline Fashion Brow Cream Pencil Brown
Hey beauties! I am back with another eyebrow product. After the last post on the blog about the latest launch by Maybelline “Fashion Brow Pomade Crayon”, it is time for the next one in the range: Fashionbrow Cream pencil. While I had really liked the brow pomade crayon, I also mentioned that I would rather use it for special occasions since it involved some work with a flat brush. Also, I am wary of eyebrow pencils which offer stark results and that’s why an eyebrow pencil never made it to my kit. (I have always used THIS eyeshadow to fill my eyebrows). But when team Maybelline sent over this pencil to me I was intrigues because a “cream pencil” was a new thing for me. The first thing that came to my mind was “Won’t it be brittle?” Read on to find out if my fears came true!

Review/Swatches Maybelline Fashion Brow Pomade #Soft brown
Review/Swatches Maybelline Fashion Brow Pomade #Soft brown

Hey ladies! In our previous post I mentioned about a new launch, remember? Well time to reveal it! It is the brand new brow pomade by Maybelline. As far as I know, brow pomade in an affordable price tag was not present in the Indian market. We had eye brow pencils, eyebrow powders etc but not pomade. The first time I heard about brow pomade was from Instagram celebs and cosmetic retailers on Instagram- The Anastasia Brow pomade. That little pot sells for no less than Rs.1800 in Indian currency. Now, although I love groomed brows, I d not favour the thickly drawn “stencilled” brows since I feel they might look good in pictures but in actual life I am most definitely going to find people pointing out my “makeup eyebrows” to me and asking why did I paint them? Lol! So it has always been a brown eyeshadow and a thin angular brush as my “eyebrow soldiers” (I use Inglot eyeshadow for the same. (Read HERE). But when I saw such affordable brow pomade and that too in a crayon form I couldn’t resist myself. Read on to find how it fared.
