We all have that one friend to whom we turn to
whenever we are happy, sad, excited, depressed etc and no matter what the age
the bond which screams “you are the one I will want by my side no matter what”
is always there. I feel there is a similar phenomenon with our lipsticks- There
are high maintenance lipsticks which require lipliners, lip balms and what not
before application, there are disappointing lipsticks which start to look
unflattering on our lips right in the middle of a party and then there is that
one lipstick which is your “swipe and go” and a colour which goes well with
almost all your outfits, which is battered and dented by extreme usage but you
still cannot let it go! :D For me, such a lipstick is Maybelline’s Colorshow

Packaging:
Maybelline Colorshow lipsticks come in a basic black tube packaging with a coloured
translucent band in the middle which depicts the colour house of the shade
inside. I quite like this bit because when your lipsticks outnumber your age
things like this make it easy for you to find them out when you need it ;)

Take:
Maybelline Colourshow in Choco Latte is a warm brownish pink. Yes, the my-lips-but-better
(MLBB) kind of shade we all love. It has been describe as a nude shade in many
blogs, however I beg to differ. Nude lipstick and MLBB lipsticks are completely
different story altogether since nude lipstick requires a full ace flawless
makeup, while MLBB is your “swipe and go” kind of lipstick (Read more about such differences and a famous nude lipstick MAC Kinda Sexy HERE).

So back to point, this warm pinkish brown in a super buttery texture makes it perfect for
almost every skin tone- The deeper skin tones would find this as a daily wear
shade and the fairer skin tones would love this as a beautiful wearable brown
which does not take life away from your face like other “dead browns” :P Also, it looks more brownish on wrist swatches but adjusts to your complexion beautifully when on lips :) On me its a beautiful dusty pink

There is no
necessity of using a lip balm before applying this lipstick because it is
very creamy! But the downside is that this factor makes it an extremely “Transfer
to everything” kind of lipstick! L The staying power is about 3-4 hours if you
do not go on munching and sipping and if you do, the full blown colour
would fade to a lovely pinkish tint. Awesomely pigmented but does not settle
into lines of lips, this lipstick is a
sure “daily wear” winner J

Maybelline Colorshow Choco Latte lipstick is a “purse worthy” lip color which
will save your day anytime. For longer evening wear purpose, look elsewhere J
