The Traditional but No-Fuss bride: Agnirupa
Bengali Brides' Styles: Elegant Eves Bridal Banter |
Hello Everyone!! Today we are starting with yet another
section on Bridal
Banter which will feature other brides from Eastern India :D We shall be discussing what they chose for
their weddings and receptions: everything from makeup to jewellery and attire.
The first “Real bride” to be featured here is a very close friend of mine who
chose to do something different in her wedding J Without
further ado, presenting
to you Agnirupa Archarya (Bhattacharya now!) ;)
Now, if you remember my
own wedding preparation banter (Read HERE), I wanted to look completely
vintage traditional Bengali bride with typical red benaroshi saree and gold jewellery
with old-fashioned designs. Agnirupa,
on the other hand chose a modern benaroshi saree which had colorful embroidery
along with the traditional zari in a base of red. She wanted a fuss-free style but without
compromising on the Bengali bridal look.

Instead of going for a red blouse with the red saree, she chose a
customised fresh green blouse with net
sleeves and zari appliques (Droooooool!). She also skipped the typical tissue veil that every Bengali bride
takes and opted for a “ghomta” (Ghoonghat) with the saree pallu itself.

For jewellery, she combined gold jewellery with light designs
along with Kundan jewellery which we must say went REALLY well with her
off-beat saree.

Her makeup consisted mainly of intense smokey eyes and a bright cherry red
pout :D What’s NOT to love? Her makeup was done by Abhijit Paul (Contact Him Here)

For her reception, she chose YET another totally uncommon
Benaroshi saree in royal blue and sea green color combi. (Blue
really looks good on girls with cool toned pearly complexion like hers. I had chosen Pink for my reception because I am warm toned and blue washes me out).

Even her makeup looked super fresh with understated eyes, glowy skin and a bright pink pout. She had purple flowers in her hair which completed her look!!

She skipped the veil altogether to keep the look even more fresh and wore only an eye-catching heavy kundan choker around her neck with complementary earrings.

She
actually showed that you do not have to “die” under heavy weight jewellery and
sarees to look like a blushing bride. We ABSOLUTELY LOVED the fresh new look
she created. This will definitely inspire a lot many ladies
who want to try something different but are not getting any ideas for the same J

We wish you all the very best for this new phase of your life,
Agnirupa! J Stay blessed both of you!
