Review of Sosilk Shampoo |
Hey beauties, today I shall be talking about my experience
with a new brand of haircare on the block- Prem Henna. I was sent two products
from their range which included a shampoo and a henna. The latter will be
reviewed in the next post for you and today is the turn of the shampoo. It is
called Sosilk Soya Milk Protein Shampoo (Does the name sound familiar? :P) Read
on to find how it fared!
About the company: Prem
Henna, as the name suggest The Love For Henna started in 1930 with the agriculture of Henna at
Sojat District of Rajasthan. Taking this love forward the company commercially
established itself in 1988 with a vision to streamline the orthodox Mehand i business
& manufacture superior quality natural herbal henna based products. Keeping
the vision in mind it pioneered the Mehandi Cone concept, simplifying it’s
application & trade.
In
2004 the Company started it’s pan India operations with a range of pure henna
powder, Mehandi cone & Henna powder based hair color under the brand name,
Nisha, Prem Dhulan & Kaveri.
Product Claim: SoSilk Shampoo is a cream shampoo withSoya Milk Protein.
Designed for all hair types, SoSilk Shampoo is special in many ways, mainly
owing to its soya milk protein formula. Proteins are very much a part of hair,
they are much needed nutrients for good health, particularly for the hair. What
can be a better shampoo than SoSilk which is fully loaded with caring effects
of soya milk protein? SoSilk shampoo nourishes your hair and makes them strong
& healthy. Recommended for its beneficial effect on weak and brittle hair,
soya milk protein not only improves tensile strength of hair, but also removes
impurities off the hair. Soya milk protein is a rich source of amino acids,
antioxidants and omega-3-fatty acids. This cocktail of known hair nutrients, in
SoSilk, leaves your hair strong enough to defend themselves from free radicals
and sun rays. If you are also looking for a shampoo for smooth, soft, shiny
& healthy looking locks; just go for SoSilk. Make it your first choice for
getting strong, lustrous & healthier hair, because soya milk protein makes
this shampoo a unique product in its genre.

Price: Re.1 per sachet of 6ml
Shelf Life: 18 months from date of Manufacturing.
My take: The Shampoo comes in a bright yellow sachet of 6 ml
and is priced at Re. 1 per sachet which makes it ultra affordable. The name
although irks me a bit because it resembles another well known-brand (You all
know which one I am talking about).
The shampoo is a white in color and has a runny formula
(unlike other thick creamy shampoos). The fragrance is floral and fresh and it
lathers up quickly. On my medium length (below shoulders) fine hair I need just
one packet and if my hair is oiled then two packets suffice. The shampoo cleanses
hair well but I did notice some hairfall during the wash. Also, even though my
hair is not very dry, I did feel that a conditioner would be required post
wash.
After drying my hair and scalp had that squeaky clean feel and
a leave-on serum took care of the slight dryness at the ends.

Review of Sosilk Shampoo |
Overall, I feel there are a few areas of improvement in this
shampoo: It can be more more moisturizing. Also,
instead of just mentioning “Soya Milk Protein”, it needs
to have a complete ingredient list printed on the packet.
I would not recommend it if you have dry hair, but if you are
looking for a deep cleansing shampoo, then do give this a try! It delivers good
results there!
