Review of ESQIDO Gel Eyeliner Pencil Black and Brown
Review of ESQIDO Gel Eyeliner Pencil Black and Brown |
I am
writing after a month long sabbatical. Too many things were going on in
home-front which made it impossible for me to even open my laptop. But I
realised I just need to write a review today since am trying this new product
sent to me by team ESQIDO. It is their newly launched gel eyeliner pens. I am
extremely happy with the ESQIDO lashes and their Companion lash glue (Readreview and about the brand HERE), so suffice it to say, I was looking forward
to a great experience with these pens as well. Keep reading to see if they
fared as well as their predecessors.

My take: The Esqido gel liner pencil in Black is a jet black shade
and the brown is a tuape-ish brown. The pigmentation of both is very
satisfactory and single swipe deposits enough pigment on eyes. The texture also
is buttery smooth and they glide on very easily on the waterline as well as
over the lashline.

Infact,
the texture is so smooth that I was quite sure that it is going to smudge very
soon. However, within seconds of application when I tried to rub my finger on
my lashline and waterline, the color refused to budge.

To further
test the liners, I used both pencils on my eyes without any eyeshadow, eyeshadow primer, concealer or powder
anywhere on my face. Then I went out to run errands in a particularly highly
humid day. The marketplace where I went to was a local bazaar sort of place,
and so no air conditioners to prevent sweating!
I came
back after 4 hours and checked my face. I was amazed to find that let alone
smudging, there was not even any fading on my waterline or lashline even though
I sweated like a pig :-o I waited for another hour to splash my face with water
and then gently rubbed my eyes. There was no smudging even then although the
pigment had faded slightly by then.
Check the
pictures below. The first is freshly applied (with a light hand), next is after
4 hours and then with the water test.

There was
also no irritation on my waterline even after I used them for tight-lining eyes.
However,
contrary to claims, I know I will not be able to created winged lines with a
smooth pencil like this. For sharp cat eyes, I always need a pointed brush and
liquid eyeliners :P
However,
if longevity, pigmentation, transfer-proof quality are to be considered, then
these pencils are definitely “gel eyeliners in pencil form”.

I
sincerely hope ESQIDO considers retailing in India as their products work like
charm. And even though they have free worldwide shipping, I know many who do
not have credit cards or debit cards with international transaction facility.
Let’s hope team ESQIDO considers direct retail in India. Nykaa.com are you
listening???
