I am on a SUGAR cosmetics roll these days and my
Instagram feed is a proof of that (Follow me HERE to check the posts). I had
already ranted about how I didn’t own any eyeshadow palette except three
(Sivanna MakeupPro, Sleek Au Naturel and Sleek Arabian Nights), but every rant has
to end someday :P So recently, I gifted myself two eye shadow palettes: One
24-pan palette from Makeup Revolution (Review to be up later) and one beautiful
quad from the Blend The Rules range of eye shadows of Sugar Cosmetics. Why I
ended up choosing shade 07 Applause and how it did fare on my pigmented lids?

How To Apply
·
Start
by taking a colour that is a shade or two darker than your skin tone and run it
back and forth onto your crease as a transition shade
·
Start
blending at the point where you want the deepest colour, like the outer corner
and aim toward the place where you want the lightest colour. By doing
this, a gradient will be created by the colour choice alone
·
Next go
for the shimmer shade on the lid to get that pop. Use the doe-tip sponge
applicator or a damp flat brush or your finger for that additional depth
·
Use a
darker shade on the crease to define the eye shape. Start applying from the
outer corner of the eye, making a ‘V’, and blend it halfway through the eyelid
with the round eyeshadow blending brush”

Packaging:
A flat
cardboard tray with a magnetic flip top cover and the uber cool graphics of
SUGAR Cosmetics J
The palette is very lightweight and sleek which makes it perfect to carry in
purses. The palette also comes covered inside a black matte paper sleeve. There
is a double ended sponge applicator included inside the palette.
My Experience:
I like to
remain in comfort zone when it comes to choosing eyeshadow shades. I rarely
reach out for bright blues, pinks or greens. My safest bets are browns,
bronzes, deep purples, beiges and muted golds. Recently, my interest is
drifting towards earthy plums, rusts, rose golds etc kind of shades. The shade “07
Applause” from the Blend The Rules Eyeshadow seemed like a natural pick amidst
all the other quads mainly because the shade selection in this quad is exactly
the kind of colors I have been loving these days.

the following shades in 07 APPLAUSE:

Flesh-toned matte beige (pink tones in beige)- A Perfect
transition color

An earthy matte plum- Perfect for crease and outer V of the
upper lid
·
A cool toned matte brown- Perfect for crease and lining the
lower lashline or softening khols as well.

A gorgeous metallic Rose
Gold- A true rose gold with brilliant
sheen.

All the shades are insanely pigmented,
are buttery soft and blends like a dream! Most palettes I have used till now have at least one shade
which is chalky with disappointing pigmentation, but this palette has just made
me go gaga. All the shades are so intense, blendable and that too without any
primer underneath!
The three
matte shades can be used for daily make-up looks and the rose gold shade can be
used for glam up any party makeup look or if used sparingly, it can be used to
create soft daytime glam looks too. I can see myself reaching out for this
palette for my daily makeup more than any other palette. The quality of the
shadows is even more buttery than my all-time favourite palette by Sleek Makeup
(Au-Naturel

Overall, I am in love with this palette
because of its quality and the fact that the chosen shades in this number (07
Applause) would suit beauties of all skin tones.
My mobile phone camera totally couldn't capture the gorgeous shades on my eyes :( And also I have having a bad eyeliner day (I just couldn't draw a straight line)
