launched by the brand Plum was Plum Angel Eyes Kajal (Read full review HERE). Although I loved the intense pigmentation
of the kajal, one drawback of that kajal was that it was not smudge-proof or
long staying. The next launch by Plum was the new improved kohl called
Naturstudio All Day Wear Kohl Kajal in three shades- Black Brilliance, Uptown Brown and Gemstone Green. I felt pampered when
the brand sent me Black Brilliance and Gemstone Green J Read on to see if these new improvements are better
than the original Angel Eyes Kajal.

Full-size 1.2g pencil – 4 times the kajal found in twister kajals (which
contain 0.31g). Lasts at least twice as long.
Packaging: While the colored version (Gemstone Green) comes as
a normal wooden pencil with a clear plastic wrap, the black one (Black
Brilliance) comes in a “prism” shaped cardboard box. There are “cut-out” guide
behind the box but unfortunately I had to rip apart the pack because the
cut-outs weren’t very smooth L The pencils are sharpen-able and thus has much more
quantity (1.2g) than twist-up kajal pencils which contain 0.31g only.

My Take: Black Brilliance is a completely jet black kajal which is totally matte.
Gemstone Green is a green which leans
towards teal blue-ish tones. There is slightly metallic sheen to this
shade. Both shades swipe opaque with one stroke.
What is
beautiful about these pencils is the fact that even on waterline I don’t need to swipe to and fro for pigmentation to
build up- Just one swipe gives enough
color. There is no stinging as well on the waterline after applying these
kajals. I found the pencil slightly drier which makes it difficult to draw
a clean line on the upper lash line, but that may be totally because I am in
Assam right now and the weather is chilly. In Mumbai’s humid weather, I feel
these will be easier to glide on.

The swatch on my
wrist remained for over 12 hours (11 AM-11.30 PM approx) even when I had worn a
full-sleeved flannel overcoat whose sleeve was constantly rubbing the swatch
area. Only oil cleanser worked to remove it at the end of the day.
On my eyes, both
the shades remained till I removed them with a cleanser before bedtime. Also,
since these are extremely smudge-proof and settles within minutes of
application, if you need to smudge them for a smokey eye look, you have to do
it fast :P

swatches so that you can see how they look on the eyes. In the second picture,
I have also applied a bit of purple eyeshadow over smudged Black Brilliance on
the upper eye-lid.

Overall, I am
completely satisfied with these eye-pencils, I am looking forward to use the
brown shade as well. The price point is a tad high considering the other
pencils available, but for such an amazing quality product, I think the price
is justified.
