Sivanna Colors Candy Lollipop Lipstick-19 and how to use a nude-beige lipstick
Sivanna Colors Candy Lollipop Lipstick-19 |
I had received
this lipstick as a freebie with my Sivanna Colors Makeup haul (Check the entire haul post HERE).
Although freebies excite me since childhood, this particular shade (Shade 19. Yes,
the Candy Lollipop range of lipsticks from Sivanna have numbers instead of
names) was a disappointment-at-first sight :P Sivanna Colors Candy Lollipop
Lipstick-19 is a perfect peachy beige shade that you might love as a concealer
or undereye brightener. It might also serve as a good nude shade for porcelain skinned
beauties but for a strongly yellow-tone medium-tan complexioned person like me,
I just could not make it work for my skin. Even a stark nude shade like MAC Kinda Sexy lipstick worked very
well for me (read whole review here),
but not this lipstick. So did I throw this bullet away? Or did I find some other
way to use this tube up? Read on for a short review on this lipstick and how I
use it now.
Product name: Sivanna Colors Candy Lollipop Lipstick
Shade: 19//////// Price: No idea since it was a freebie but it sells for under
Rs.300 on Flipkart or Amazon.

Packaging: To be honest, I quite liked the packaging for that price point. It’s a metallic lavender tube with a click lock cap and it is housed in a carton box. The shade number is printed on the bottom of the bullet.

Shade: Shade 19 of Sivanna Colors Candy Lollipop Lipstick is a perfect peachy
beige shade. This would totally wash out women of color and can also look weird
on fair skinned people. As mentioned earlier, it would do as a nude lipstick
only on paper-white or porcelain skinned ladies, and that too after a lot of
lip-lining and stuff like that.

Texture and longevity: The texture is creamy and pigmentation is a super awesome. Just one swipe suffices. Post application this lipstick settles to a satin finish and is comfortable on lips. Stays for around 4-5 hours and does not settle in lines. Had it been in a normal shade, I would have loved this formula for a daily lipstick, the kinds which we stuff in our purses for touch-ups.

Now for the “hack”
part: If you all know me, you would know that I hate unnecessary hoarding and then
not using existing products. I also love bright lipsticks(Read Top Bright Lipsticks from L’oreal HERE), but sometimes I steer
clear of them and only want wearable (easy to work with) shades around me.
Thus, I have come up with a way to use this horrendously pale lipstick and all
the vampy dark lipsticks that I have in my stash. One swipe of this lipstick
over a dark lipstick, a slight pursing of lips to mix them and voila! A wearable
shade of lipstick! I was amazed at how well this lipstick’s texture blended
with my other lipsticks. Below are some of the combinations that I have been
trying during the last weeks. Except for the last image of purple lipstick
which didn’t really work for my face, all the others worked fabulously well :D
Sivanna 19+ Bright Red= Warm Pink |
Sivanna 19+ Fuchsia= Cool Pink |
Sivanna 19+ Brick Brown= Rust (Favorite!) |
Sivanna+ Burnt Red= Mauvish pink |
Sivanna 19+ Eggplant shade= cool Mauve/purple |
I know this is
not something “new” that I have tried. But this was just a reminder for all of
us not to throw away a product just because it seems “un-wearable” at first
instance. Mix and match and your pocket will love you for it ;)
Do you also do
this?? Let me know!
