Festival of Lights: Quick makeup for busy women |
Hey beauties! Today is Kaali Puja and tomorrow is Diwali. I am sure all
of you are in festive mood completely. Loads of sweets, crackers and lights are
being stacked up around you, isn’t it? Well, as much auspicious the occasion is,
there is also the decking up part ;) We all want to look our best on Diwali.
Read on to check out the look I created for Diwali.
The purpose of this post was to create a simple
makeup look for the “superwomen” in all families who juggle work, home and
everything under the sun. As much as we LOVE the thousands of youtube videos
and tutorials showing detailed and fantastic makeup look for festivals, I know
many women who have to run around the entire day managing the entire household
even on Diwali day (not to forget the evening Puja preparations!) and do not
have enough time to devote to elaborate makeup (Thanks to toddlers and “Mummy..potty!!”
moments)

For those ladies, this kind of look would be apt.
Let’s see what I used for this look,
1. A
Golden eyeshadow which served as all over lid color and highlighter for face.
2. Matte
brown eyeshadow which served as eyebrow filler, contouring powder and eyeshadow
crease.
3. A
black gel eyeliner and a Mascara
4. Two
lipsticks in Fuchsia and orangey coral
5. A
pink blush

That’s it! Just powder your face with some medium
coverage powder (Like Lotus Eco stay compact powder). This would let you skip
foundation and concealer routine. Dab some bronzey or golden eyeshadow all over
eyelids and use the same shadow for highlighting browbone, bridge of nose, cheekbones
and cupid’s bow of lips. Now take the matte brown eyeshadow and use a fluffy
brush to blend the eyecrease. Take the same eyeshadow on a small flat brush and
fill in your brows. Now with a larger brush contour your face using the same
matte brown shade sparingly. Add some pink blush on cheeks. Line and slightly
smudge your eyes with the black gel liner and apply loads of volumizing
mascara. Let your lips do the talking and shade in two lip colors like fuchsia
and coral or red and orange. Finish off with a bindi of your choice.

Now wear a “showstopper” accessory like this Nosering.
You can even try a maangtika. And you are done! This whole look takes a total
of ten minutes to put together but still will make you join the festive vibe
very well :D You can give yourself ten minutes, can’t you? ;)
