Review/Swatches of Miss Claire Soft Matte Lip Creams 05,12 and 17A
Review/Swatches of Miss Claire Soft Matte Lip Creams 05,12 and 17A |
Hey lovelies!! Recently you must
have seen me fawning over Miss Claire stuff over Facebook ;) I did a small haul
from the brand and I have already reviewed their French Manicure Kit (read it HERE to find out why I am in love with the
kit!) I also got three of their much raved lip creams which claim to have “soft
matte” texture. Read on to find out my views on them!
Product name: Miss Claire Soft Matte Lip Cream
Shades: No. 05, 12 and 17A (Yes, they have numbers instead of names,
something which I do not like)

Product Description: It’s not lipstick, nor is
it gloss. It’s nothing like you have experienced before. It’s lipstick cream
that goes on silky but looks soft matte
Price:
Miss Claire lip creams are sold over some retail counters and all over
Instagram from anywhere between Rs.150 to Rs.250. I bought these three for a
total of Rs.500. So it comes down to about 165/- each.

Packaging:
They come in transparent tubes with
black caps housing a wand applicator. The see-through body helps you know
exactly which shade it is when stashed in your makeup kit :P The applicator is doe-foot which gives
precision application even on thin lips like mine. Remember how I disliked the rectangular
wand applicator of the “Incolor Matte Me Lip creams”?

My Take: I
picked the shades 05, 12 and 17A.
Shade no 5. is a perfect
warm peach with pinkish undertones. It would suit fair to medium skin
tones beautifully
Shade no. 12 is a blue
based fuchsia on me although it is described as deep berry pink on
other blogs. On me it looks blue based clean fuchsia under normal light and a rich
dark pink under yellow light. It will suit every complexion. It is an instant
face brightener.
Shade no. 17A is an everyday
colour - muddy pink. It is apt for workplace or for days you want an
understated lip colour. The flesh pink tone would suit every complexion without
washing it out.

All of them smell exactly
like toffee and I feel like smacking it off after application :P The
texture is soufflé
like light and completely unlike “Incolor matte me” ones which
screams super matte. Miss Claire Soft matte lip creams would appear creamy while applying, almost like
melted butter. This made me doubt if they would settle down to matte. But
it did in a few seconds. When you see the lip swatches, you will see that No.
12 is how the lip cream looks just after application and No. 17A is how they
turn out after a few seconds and No. 5 is how they ultimately look like in a
minute or two.

One more thing I noticed it,
No. 12 is a bit runnier compared to the other two. This might be the case with
only my one though! (Manufacturing batch issues). But nevertheless, it does
settle into a soft matte texture as well.
I have worn this lip creams to
work and they
survived heavy breakfast completely and stayed same till lunch.
After lunch they do fade a little but the tint is still there. Also, they are
very comfortable
on lips unlike the super matte Incolor lip creams and you don’t feel
like you “have something on your lips”.
