Plum E-Luminence Bright-Mix Face Serum Review

Plum says, This wonderfully light, deep absorbing serum is PACKED with plant nutrients, vitamins, proteins & natural hydrating factors to keep your skin looking bright and cheerful!” I had received this serum as part of the PR package from the Plum team along with their NaturStudio Kohls in Black Brilliance and Gemstone Green (Read Fullreview HERE). The E-Luminence Bright-mix face serum is brand new launch by the team which had released the the e-Luminence cream a year back. Since my skin is dry and this serum claims to be for sensitive, dry, normal and combination skin types, I was glad to start using this.

Product Claim: The "bright" recipe to take away dullness and dryness from your skin. This "gone in a flash" absorbing serum contains carefully selected natural extracts that work within the skin through multiple mechanisms, helping it regain its natural glow!
Vitamin E moisturizes and helps the skin fight oxidation. Vitamin B3 helps achieve an even skin tone. Smartly extracted sesame protein helps firm up skin, making it look plumper. Licorice and white willow bark attack pigmentation and exfoliate gently, respectively.
This multi-dimensional approach to glowing skin is a "bright" idea whose time has come!

Works for: Sensitive, Dry, Normal and combination skin types. Not for recommended by the brand for oily or acne-prone skin.
How to use:  Start with slightly moist skin, right after cleansing & toning. Apply tiny dots all over your face - a little is enough. With short, quick strokes, apply the serum with your fingertips. While your face is still wet with the serum, tap lightly with fingertips to allow the serum to sink in better. Wait 3 minutes or more for your skin to absorb the goodness. Always follow with a moisturizer. Can be used day & night.

Packaging: The serum comes housed inside a typical Plum’s matte white carton with peachy-pink accents. I love the minimalist yet classy look all Plum products have.  Inside the carton there is a white plastic bottle with a pump dispenser and a cap. The pump works very well and dispenses just the right amount of product with very tap.

My Take: I had mentioned in my previous posts that I have religiously started CTM routine before bedtime. I had started off with Biotique Pineapple and Berberry cleansers and Honeywater toner (read full reviews HERE and HERE) and followed it with the Dandelion serum the same brand. But after a week, I switched the serum to Plum E-Luminence because of the impressive ingredient list. (I now use the Dandelion serum in morning and Plum serum at night)

Plum e-Luminenece serum has a very light-weight white gel-like consistency and just one pump is enough to cover my whole face and neck. As instructed, I apply the serum when my face is still moist after toning. Using my fingertips I blend in the serum in short upward strokes and then pat my fingers all over my face and neck for the serum to work its way in. I avoid using my palms to massage the serum since I believe that palms soak in almost the entire product.

Then fragrance is very faint and not overpowering at all and my dry skin literally soaks in the product. There is no greasy feeling except a very nourished look post application. However, with my dry skin and the extreme cold weather of Assam making it worse, I need to follow it up with a moisturizer. Since, this is very lightweight, I feel it will suit oily skin as well, but the brand specifically mentions that it is not meant for Oily skin. So, after letting the serum soak into my skin for two minutes, I massage some cream (Ponds Cold cream at times and Patanjali shea butter cream at other).

I remember how one of my first serum buys was The Body Shop Vit-E Overnight Serum (Read Review HERE), and how I was pretty happy with the results. But, without being biased, I absolutely love what my skin wakes up to when I apply E-luminence serum at night- A fresh, nourished and plump skin! There is no grease or oiliness in the T-zone as well. The serum is very light-weight and I feel this will serve as a good moisturizing base/primer even before makeup (for Normal to Dry skin)
The best part is that it is suiting my mother’s skin as well. We both are enjoying a nourished and plump skin every morning. There is no irritation or breakouts as well. I am extremely happy with this serum and would definitely recommend it for normal-dry-extra dry skin types J
