MyGlamm Total Makeover FF Cream (All shades) Review, Swatches
MyGlamm Total Makeover FF Cream (All shades) Review, Swatches |
A few days back
I was excited on receiving a new launch from Myglamm brand in my mail. It was a
box containing all the three available shades of their new product called Total
Makeover FF cream. It is an innovative multi-use product and each palette
consists of one cream foundation, one yellow concealer and one orange
corrector. In the words of the brand-
“Make space for the Total Makeover cream, because it’s
all you are going to need to achieve a flawless base! A versatile tool in any
woman’s makeup arsenal, this 5 in 1 Primer, foundation, concealer, compact and
corrector with SPF will banish any evidence of after hours excesses. How
convenient!”
Product name: MyGlamm Total Makeover FF Cream
Shades Available: Light, Medium, Dusky
Price: 1450/- INR for 10.5 gm( 6.5g+2.0g+2.0g)
Available at: www.myglamm.com
Packaging: The mirror-finished golden palettes come encased inside a white
carton. There is also a layer of Styrofoam fitted inside the carton. I really
liked because this little detailing in the packaging because it makes the
palettes travel-friendly. The mirror-finish cover gives way to ugly
fingerprints though. There is a good quality mirror inside.

My Take: The brand claims this to be 5-in-1 product. But each palette contains 3 pans- A foundation, a yellow concealer and orange corrector. Maybe they meant that the foundation pan would work as a primer, foundation and compact.
Basically all
three pans are cream products. The
foundation feels more emollient when swiped with finger. The yellow corrector is
also easy to swipe, however the orange corrector in all the three palettes is
harder to swatch. It is not as emollient and creamy as the foundation and
yellow corrector. All three are insanely
pigmented and there is no strong smell either.
Ingredients |
The orange
corrector is to be applied first on dark circles or any discoloration on the
skin. I found that using warm fingertips works way better than picking up with
a brush. I used my fingertips to dab to the orange corrector under my eyes and
around my mouth. The catch is that due to the hard to blend texture of the
orange corrector, the only way to properly blend it would be to use a damp
beauty blender sponge (I use my PAC blender).

I use the
foundation next by dotting it all over my face and then smoothening with my
fingers. The foundation being emollient enough spreads easily on the face and
neck, however I like to finish the blending with a dab of the beauty blender
sponge. The texture is buildable and you can layer it to achieve the required
opacity. I find such textures easier to work with rather than the ones which
give full coverage at one go.

Finally, I use
yellow corrector for slight brightening of the under-eye area (again with the
beauty blender). This one is also easy to blend like the foundation.
All these
products settle to an almost matte finish on the skin. Probably that’s why the
brand claims that it is a “compact powder” as well. If used one layer, the
finish is very comfortable to be even used on a daily basis. However, I would
suggest the higher coverage created with more layers for evening party looks
when you can carry a heavier base easily. Another tip is to dust a finishing
powder all over after the blending is done, just because all cream products
stay put with a slight layer of powder. Regarding the primer claim, I do not
have very large pores so I can easily skip applying primer before using this
product. But people with visible pores might have to use an additional primer
beforehand.
The staying
power is pretty commendable too! Presently, I am in Assam where it is full-on
winter these days. In this weather, this product stays on me for more than 7
hours. I am yet to try it in humid weather.
Now let us talk about the shades: One interesting thing I noticed about all the three
shades is that the orange and yellow correctors in Light, Medium and Dusky all
swatched same on my skin tone. Only the foundation shades varied in the
palettes. The best part about each foundation is that they don’t end up looking
ashy.
Light: The foundation shade given in this palette is beige with strong pink undertones. This shade would suit people
with cooler skintones mostly in the MAC foundation range of NW25-35. People
paler than that would find this shade a tad darker on them.

Medium: The foundation shade given in this palette is warm beige with obvious yellow tones. A perfect pick for MAC tones
NC40 or medium-deep or medium-tan complexion. Medium blends well on my
skintone, however it is not face brightening shade for me. Since I don’t mind
going half a shade darker in my base makeup I do not mind this shade.

Dusky: The foundation shade of this palette is a deep-tan shade. This would suit MAC NC 42-44 skintones. Anything
deeper than that, this shade would be light on them. On my NC 37-40 tone, I use
this shade as a wonderfully natural looking contour shade.

Now let’s see
all the swatches together:

Summing up what
I like about this palette and what are the scopes for improvements:
Likes:
·
Travel-friendly,
great packaging, multiuse product
·
Pigmentation
is wonderful
·
No
ashy or cakey feel after application
·
Stay
long
·
No
unpleasant fragrance
·
The
orange corrector although looks stark orange in the pan, it is actually very
wearable once blended properly.
Scope for improvement:
·
More
shade options required. Available shades definitely not enough for the wide
range of Indian skin tones
·
Orange
corrector’s formulation should be a little more emollient so that it is easy to
work with
·
Same
shades of yellow and orange correctors should not be used in all 3 palettes for
obvious reasons. Currently the difference in tone between them is very
negligible.
Finally, below
is picture of my bare face (with obvious dark circles and discoloration around
mouth), followed by one where I have used Total FF cream in shade medium all
over my face and then slightly contoured nose with the Dusky palette’s
foundation. Notice that although my dark circles are not fully covered, the
overall base looks decent and the discoloration around mouth is also almost
covered.

And this is how
I look with the completed makeup. I have used Sivanna Colors Makeup Pro Eyeshadow palette, Miss Claire Pearl eyeliner
and Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip palette.
