Hey ladies, in my previous post you saw that I
picked up some Sivanna Colors products and I was almost swooning over the
packaging of the products as well as the swatch quality. Today’s post will be a
detailed review on the most beautiful looking product among that lot: The Crown
Pegasus Brilliant lipstick- phew! Quite a name, isn’t it? I picked up shade
number 10 since it seemed like a classic old Hollywood red. Also, worth
mentioning is that this lipstick is complete dupe of the droolworthy Christian Louboutin’s Rouge
lipsticks. So all you people wanting an affordable
dupe of Christian Louboutin lipsticks, look no further! Without further
ado, let’s start with the review.

Packaging:
The lipstick comes encased in a matte black carton box with gold lettering. The
tube is a gorgeous golden water-drop shape with a crown shaped cap. The body of
this tube is similar to golden fish scales. There is a small loop on the crown
cap where you can insert a chain or ribbon to adorn this unique lipstick around
your neck! (The chain in the pictures is my own ) The cap shuts with a “click”
and thus this will be very travel friendly.

My
take:
I was a lover of strong orangey reds in my early twenties. Now that I am in my late twenties, my fondness has
transferred to classic cranberry reds.
I did not have a cool toned deep red in my stash and I am SO glad this shade is
JUST that! It is a perfect deep red to suit all complexions and ages twenty
upwards. I am not fond of maroon at all and so please do not confuse deep red
with maroon. I have seen some reviews where people have described shade 10 as
an orangey red. I do not understand why. The shade does look a lot warmer when
pictures are clicked but in real life it is a deep cranberry red. Period!

The texture is completely matte yet buttery smooth
to apply (Unlike the classic MAC Ruby Woo). The fragrance is of the citrusy lozenges/candies we used to have in
our childhood (What’s not to love!)

The staying power is amazing. It does transfer
slightly in the beginning but the colour pay-off is astounding: One swipe and
you are good to go for entire day.
Another thing which I liked about this lipstick was
that even in this hot and humid weather of Mumbai (we do not have an AC), the
base is still strongly put. Remember how the otherwise lovely L’oreal Moistmatte
lipsticks break at the base? (Read review HERE)

I also noticed slight staining of lips when I
removed this lip colour with a cotton ball dipped in cleansing milk. But when I
followed that with coconut oil wipe, the lips did not have any stain remaining.
So I guess any oil based makeup remover would do good.
If the below swatch looks orangey to you, it might
be because of your phone’s /computer’s resolution. Please be assured that shade
10 is a deep, cool-toned red.
