Eyeshadow under Rs.150- Sivanna Baked Eyeshadow #12 |
Hey lovely people! As promised after my Sivanna cosmetics haul (Check entire haul here), I have started using each product now and detailed individual reviews will follow now. In that context, have you read the review on Sivanna Makeup Crown Lipstick? They are the affordable dupes of ChristianLouboutin lipsticks :D Moving ahead with this review, although I am a fan of eyeshadow palettes more than single shades because palettes seem more economical and travel friendly, when I spotted this affordable baked eyeshadow, I could not refrain myself. Read on to find out all details
Product name: Sivanna Colors Baked eyeshadow
Price: Rs. 145 (Prices may vary between Rs.140-200
if you buy from other Instagram stores)
Available at: Instagram Store Charis.Enterprise

Packaging: These shadows come in a plastic roundel
pot with transparent lid which lets you easily spot the shade of the shadow
inside. The eyeshadows are “baked” in a typical dome structure that we see in most
baked products. The lid does not shut very tight. I am afraid it might come off
if roughly jostled in bags. Overall, it is a decent functioning package. There is an outer black carton packaging too (Pic not included)

My take: So I was looking for a nice gunmetal shade
which will allow me to do softer smokey eyes during days. My all time favourite
matte black eyeshadow is “Noir” from Sleek Makeup’s Au Naturel Palette (Read review HERE). I have never used a more intense black eye shadow. But that being
said, I use that shade only for evenings or when I need a super intense eye
makeup.

This gunmetal shade from Sivanna colors also gave
full blown pigmentation when I swiped it with finger first. Have a look- A
gorgeous deep gunmetal with finely milled shimmers.

However, when applied on eyelids (I used my
fingers), the pigmentation was way lighter. I had no primer underneath because
I wanted to check how the product fares without any “help”. What I found was
this: Although there was no fall out at all while application, the pigmentation
could have been better. The shadow is not chalky and the texture is good. One
way to make this shade work would be NOT to use it as an overall lid colour but
as a crease shade or the touch-up of pearly sheen over matte black base.
You may also use this as an overall lid colour if
you want a soft grey look. I have used it the same way in this look and also
used a matte pink liquid lip colour as eyeliner! (Miss Claire Soft Matte LipColour).

Now the main question: Do I recommend it? I would
suggest skipping this if you are not a hoarder. The palettes which retails for
about Rs.200-300 are a better buy considering they have ten or more shades. But
I should also mention that you may try the golden or copper shades from this
range, they may well serve as great affordable highlighters! :D
