Hey everyone! Today’s
review will be on a very recent launch by the famous UK based cosmetic brand
MUA which we are all fond of because of its low price point and quality
products. They have recently come up with the Strobe and Glow Highlight kit and
since I have not come across any reviews on this in the Indian blogosphere till
now, I thought I should review it for you guys since it is lying in my vanity
for quite some days now J I
sourced this from an Instagram store called “Adoremakeup”. Read on to see how
it fared:

Packaging: It
comes in a beautiful rose tinted silver container which is really reflective (almost
like a mirror!).

Inside there are two compartments, one for powder and other
for the cream. It also houses a really good mirror. Now this is how it
should look:

But mine came completely
SMASHED into pieces :’( and I am yet to fix it up. The lady from the Insta
store was kindly enough to refund 35% of the amount to compensate this damage.

My
take:
I was really looking for some powder highlighter in budget because my favourite
Inglot AMC Illuminator (Read review HERE) sometimes looks a tad too bright during day time. When I came across
this and at that price, it was an instant buy for me!

The
Cream is a pink toned pale white one with fine golden shimmers and is very
light which makes it easy to blend into skin. The power is also pink toned
white which has ever so slight shimmer particles. I am
personally fond of golden or champagne toned highlighters because of my warm
skin tone, so this was a tad disappointing at the first look.

I tried applying the cream
(dots of it on the cheekbones and blending with dabs), and I could see instant “lighted
up” feel that highlighters generally give. Over that I applied the powder and
that sort of “dimmed” the glow. I feel the powder just mattifies the extra
sheen given by the cream.

Overall, it gave a VERY subtle glow perfect for the day time.
But the downer is that this would suit
pale and very fair skinned ladies beautifully, just about work for fair-medium
skinned ladies (like me) but deeper skinned ladies should just steer clear of
this one because the whitish and pinkish effect will spell disaster on deeper olive
skins.

It stayed for about 5-6
hours after which the glow lessened. I have a kind of love-hate relationship
with this one: Love because of the price and the two-in-one concept; hate
because of the shade L Although
it says “Pearl Gold” on the pack, there is very little “gold” to it! The powder
has such less illuminating particles that I can as well use it as a setting
powder :P But nevertheless, for pale skinned beauties, this is a must-try
highlighter!
