Hey all!
This review is about one shade from the much raved about “Apocalips” range of
liquid lip colors from Rimmel London. As much as we love the immense classy
look that matte lipsticks give us, or the sweet girly look that sheer glosses
have to offer, there are days when we want color as well as some sheen on our
lips. For me, that happens quite often. I am always on lookout for daily wear
lipcolors which has a moisturizing effect on lips as well to take me through
the day in an AC environment. AC+ dry lips+ matte lipcolor= horror!!! :-/ I
found my answer in this beautiful subtle pink called “Celestial” from the
Apocalips range of the widely loved brand Rimmel London J Read on to find more:

Claims: What Rimmel says
about the Apocalips Lip Lacquer :
It’s the End of Colour as you know it!
The intense rich colour of a lipstick, enhanced by a satin smooth shine.

It’s neither a lipstick nor a gloss… It’s BIGGER
than both!
LONG LIVE THE COLOUR!

Price: Rs. 475 for 5.5 ml
Packaging: The product comes in a
black tube with colored end. The colors would help you identify the shade of
lip color inside it if you happen to own more shades from this range. The
doe-foot applicator is slightly bent inwards and the small size makes it
perfect for even thin lips like mine.

My take: Celestial is a true dusty-pink.
But unfortunately, this might make duskier beauties look washed out. Even on me
I like to pair this with heavily kohl-ed eyes, otherwise it looks a tad too
milky-pink on my skintone. Another fabulous way I have discovered to wear this
is by tinting lips with a matte red lippy or pink lippy ever so slightly and
then topping it with this beauty J

The fragrance is fruity and the texture is like semi-melted butter actually:D Smooth, creamy, glides effortlessly and applies
absolutely opaque in single swipe. Although, I would like to
point out that since this a subtle color, pigmented lips might have to reapply
on places where necessary. Once the application is complete, it comes across as
a lip color with creamy sheen. On my lips,
within an hour of application it turns moist-matte (perfect!). It stays long
enough if you skip snacking but if you do it would fade slightly and a tint of
color will be left on your lips for about 4-5 hours. I need to retouch it after
the said interval of time. What I love the most about this one is the saturated
color even though it’s a light shade and the fact that it does not settle in
lines.

I have
tried comparing another love of mine- Rimmel Vinyl Lip gloss in shade “Snog”
with this. See the swatches: Snog looks a tad more warm than Celestial (Read full review of Snog here)

Rating: 4.9/10
Recommendation: Rimmel London’s Apocalips Lip
Lacquer #Celestial is truly a “must-have” for its full-blown pigmentation,
non-drying effect, decent staying power and a universally flattering dusty pink
shade.
