Review of NYX Powder blush Dusty Rose
Mostly we see that some make-up enthusiasts
harbor the love for lipsticks, while others go bananas over blushes and yet
others swoon at the sight of eye makeup. Yours truly loves lipsticks. But there
was one cosmetic from which I steered clear always! BLUSH. Period! Now there
are countless reasons for the same, which if I begin listing, you would need a
bed, a good stock of snacks and a pillow to relieve the backache from staring
at the screen for too long ;)
So cutting them short, I have zeroed in ONE
ultimate reason: I absolutely hated the artificial
pink cheeks look which screamed “Hey-look-I-have-makeup-on” and always found
the ladies which pink shimmery cheeks very unapproachable :P Also, when I was
younger, I used to wonder about the logic of applying blush. Now come on, we
don’t naturally blush the whole day, do we?
But that was before I came across a few
articles of some European bloggers who claimed that the use of the right blush
actually gave that much required “lift” to the complexion. But then again, I
was skeptical because although I saw the wonderful effect on those pale skinned
beauties and did a whole lot of good for their sallow skin, I wondered how to
achieve that effect on my predominantly yellow skin. Finally I took the plunge
and bought the NYX blush in Dusty Rose from a very good friend of mine who was
wonderful enough to sell this beauty to me (Apoorva, if I had been in your
place, I would have never been able to part with this! :*)

Packaging: Pretty functional
black plastic container with clear lid. It can be flimsy because mine broke in
transit although she had packed it properly with bubble-wrap :’( Thank goodness
the shape of the blush was not altered!

My take:
It
takes a lot to convert a blush-phobic into a blush-lover! NYX Dusty Rose made
me a convert because this particular shade is THE perfect matte warm pink blush
that anyone would die for!

Shade: Warm light pink. It
would suit fair-medium complexion.
Finish: No shimmers. Matte
but not chalky at all.
Texture: Silky and satiny.
Blends like a dream.
Pigmentation: Jaw-dropping!
The swatch is single swipe.
Staying power: stays for 4-5
hours on me without any primer or foundation beneath. I usually moisturize my
face and pat a little blush on the apple of my cheeks. With a foundation or
primer underneath I am sure this would last longer.

I
cannot stop “blushing” about this blush ^_^ Apoorva, I owe you this! Thank you
So much! It feels like silk literally! Such a quality product with an
affordable price tag! What else could anyone ask for! :D I have finally found
the perfect blush for myself which does not make me look “made-up” (Please note that the FOTD is taken with
heavy application of the blush. Otherwise it was not showing up in the
pictures). And the huge quantity provided would last me a lifetime! ;)

The
only dislikes for this would be:
>
Availability is a huge issue. NYX products are not easily available in Indian
online sites and even if they are, they are price at Rs.650 which is almost
double of the original cost of these blushes :-/
>
This particular shade might not show up in deeper complexions like NC-42 and
above in MAC shade card.
Pigmentation: 10/10
Texture: 10/10
Staying power: 9/10
Recommendation: Elegant Eves
“whole-heartedly” recommends this blush! If you can lay your hands on this,
don’t miss this beauty!
