Hey all,

Today’s review will be on yet another pocket friendly lipstick which can put any expensive lipstick to shame ;) Coming from a place where  make-up hype does not exist, people here are still shocked when they hear about lipsticks as costly as Rs.1450 (read MAC) and that someone would ACTUALLY buy it :D  So, with the increase in the conception that “quality comes with price” Maybelline is one such company which refutes this myth every time. I am in love with Maybelline products and the sheer Maybelline addiction would be covered in some other post ;)

For now, let us look into one such absolute stunner from Maybelline’s recently launched #Color Show Lipsticks which I believe have about 29 shades. As read from all the blogs run by my friends, I have come to know that most of the shades of this range are frosty. Now I personally detest frosty lipstick. It’s either full glossy for me, or completely creamy opaque. But this shade was different and I had requested my friend to get it for me. And I am SO glad I did!!! Read on to find more J

Price: Rs.299 for 3.9 gms

Packaging: Basic functional packaging with black plastic body. But the color band at the center which depicts the color house of the shade which the lipstick bullet belongs to is a REAL help!

My thoughts: Basically it is going to be a “OMG I LOVE IT” list because of the following reasons ;)

1. Shade: It is a beautiful mixture of Mauve, Brown and Pink. More precisely it is predominantly Mauve in a Brown base with hints of Pink. Since majority of Indian skins are yellow toned, too much bluish mauve wash out the brightness of the face, at least for me it does! I always prefer lipsticks which are warm toned and with hints of red or pink. But even then, I always wanted at least one mauve shade in my vanity. And #Forever Mauve is the perfect answer to this.

2. Texture: O-M-G!!! Smooooooth and buttery! :D It does not even require a lip balm underneath. Glides on like a dream. It does not feel heavy on lips even.

3. Pigmentation: One swipe gives a burst of color! No more swiping again and again. Rich and opaque, it is perfect for pigmented lips as well.

4. Fragrance: Candy! :D

5. Staying Power: On me it stays for a good 4hours after which it starts fading evenly.

6. Price: With the price hike craze everywhere, getting such a quality lipstick under Rs.400 is absolutely amazing.
